Study on Flora and Environmental Characteristics of Endangered Metanarthecium luteoviride Habitats
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to investigate the environmental characteristics and flora of the habitat of Metanarthecium luteoviride, located in Jungrisan(Mt.), Yeongdo-gu on Busan Metropolitan City, and to provide basic data for the conservation of the habitat. The numbers of vascular plants in this site were 245 taxa and comprised of 69 families, 164 genera, 216 species, 1 subspecies, 21 varieties, 6 forms and 1 hybrids. M. luteoviride habitats, according to investigations, were located on the north slope at elevation of 35~72m, slope of 10~15°. The surrounding vegetation showed typical vegetation structure characteristics of Busan coastal Pinus thunbergii forest. The soil volumetric moisture content was 23.6% in the occurrence area, which was higher than 14.6% in the non-occurring area. The soil porosity was also higher in the occurrence area, which was 51.7% in the occurrence area and 49.1% in the non-occurring area. The soil acidity was 4.97 on average, indicating acidic soil. Total nitrogen, available phosphorus, cation exchange capacity, and exchangeable cation content(K, Ca, Mg) were low, indicating that the soil was poor inorganic nutrients. The results of this study are expected to play an important role in understanding the dynamics of the M. luteoviride population and establishing long-term conservation strategies.
